Dear Year 5,
We all hope you have had a lovely, restful half-term holiday and are looking forward to an exciting term of learning. The end fire door will be open for you to go straight up to your classrooms from 8:40 every morning and collection time from the MUGA will be at 3:10 each day.
Please remember to wash your hands as soon as you come into the classroom, and that as our windows will be open for ventilation purposes it can get a little chillier inside than you might be used to, so in spite of the warm weather a jumper for indoors might still be useful. On hot days it would be sensible to wear sunscreen and a sun hat as shade on our playground is limited

All of Year 5 will be swimming every Monday morning until the end of Term. Please remember to pack a towel, underwear and goggles if required. Please could children preferably come to school with their swimming gear under their PE kit on Mondays. The children are in the water for an hour swimming so we recommend a hearty, healthy morning snack too.

Helping your child cope during the pandemic
It is absolutely normal that you child will be feeling many different emotions throughout this time. Sometimes they may feel things that are hard to express and seemingly never ending.
The link below takes you to a child friendly information website about Coronavirus, with tips about how to stay healthy and feelings the children might be experiencing. It also has tips for mental health and how to look after yourself.
The course follows 9 'lessons' but it is possible to scroll through each of the screens and read them along side your child all in one go.
We suggest you pay particular attention to lesson 4 'How you feel' and lesson 5 'Tips for Mental Health'.
