Year 1

Welcome to Year 1!

Year 1 staff are so excited to welcome the new children and adults. We have a fantastic array of playing and learning opportunities ahead and can't wait to get started.

We are keen to get to know all the children better as they settle back into school during the first few weeks of September. We will provide lots of opportunities for the children to get to know us and their new learning spaces too, as this was not possible at the end of last term.

We will focus lots of our learning around animals this term. We will learn in small groups lots of the time and have opportunities for whole class discussions too. We will also provide opportunities for children to read or take on other activities one to one with an adult. We will learn in the classrooms and also outside when possible. We are really excited that Year 1 have the chance to attend forest school this term! More details on this can be found below.

Please feel free to contact your class teacher with any news or questions. Our email addresses are below or you can catch us on the door at drop off and pick up from school.

Thanks

The Year 1 team.

P.E Days

Regular PE days to be confirmed. We recommend leaving PE kit in school all the time though as we are sometimes lucky enough to get an extra PE day at short notice. Small draw string bags are best for PE kits as they fit well on children's pegs.
