Reception and KS1
All children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM). We encourage all children to have a school meal as they are nutritionally balanced and we use locally sourced ingredients. Your child will have a choice of the following meals from the Eating Palace menu each day:
Main meal option (Meat or Vegetarian)
Picnic Lunch Bag
The Picnic Lunch Bag at the Ashton site will contain the following:
Monday - Cheese and Cucumber Roll
Tuesday - Ham and Tomato Roll
Wednesday - Chicken Salad Roll
Thursday - Tuna and Cucumber Roll
Friday - Cheese and Ham Roll
KS2
The cost of a school dinner for Key Stage 2 children will remain at £2.40 per meal. If you think that you may be entitled to free school meals, please speak to the school office. You are also able to have a Jacket Potato meal at the Class Café. Please pay for your child's school dinners online using the Parentpay system .
If your child has a food allergy, intolerance or any special dietary requirements, please speak to our Catering Manager, Nancy Dearnley. She will discuss your child’s dietary needs with you and if necessary design a personalised menu for your child. The school has a strict no nut policy and nuts are not used in any food prepared by our catering team. We ask that children who bring a packed lunch do not have nuts due to the risk to the children at the school with a nut allergy.
Any comments or suggestions regarding our school dinners are welcome.
We look forward to seeing your child at The Eating Palace or the Class Café!
