School Dinners

As you may be aware, all children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM).  We encourage all children to have a school meal as they are nutritionally balanced and we use locally sourced ingredients.  Your child will have a choice of the following meals from the Eating Palace menu each day:

  • Main meal option (Meat or Vegetarian)

  • Jacket Potato Meal

  • Picnic Lunch Bag

The Picnic Lunch Bag at the Ashton site will contain the following wrap or roll:

Monday - Cheese and Cucumber Roll

Tuesday - Ham and Tomato Roll

Wednesday - Chicken Salad Wrap

Thursday - Tuna and Cucumber Roll

Friday - Cheese and Ham Wrap

The cost of a school dinner for Key Stage 2 children will remain at £2.30 per meal.  If you think that you may be entitled to free school meals, please speak to the school office.  We have made some exciting additions to the Class Café menu which include a Jacket Potato, Salad Bar or Freshly Made Soup with a bread roll meal choice every day.  Please pay for your child's school dinners online using the Parentpay system .

Soup Menu at the Class Café:

Monday - Tomato Soup

Tuesday - Minestrone Soup

Wednesday - Tomato and Basil Soup

Thursday - Leek and Sweet Potato Soup

Friday - Vegetable Soup

We have attached a copy of the menu for Terms 3 and 4 which provides detailed information regarding the daily options.

If your child has a food allergy, intolerance or any special dietary requirements, please speak to our Catering Manager, Nancy Dearnley.  She will discuss your child’s dietary needs with you and if necessary design a personalised menu for your child.  The school has a strict no nut policy and nuts are not used in any food prepared by our catering team.  We ask that children who bring a packed lunch do not have nuts due to the risk to the children at the school with a nut allergy.

Any comments or suggestions regarding our school dinners are welcome.

We look forward to seeing your child at The Eating Palace or the Class Café!
