Reading

Calling all Harry Potter fans!

The author of the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling, is publishing her latest children's book online for free. It is called The Ickabog. She has been putting up one or two chapters a day since Tuesday 26th May. I have begun reading it and I think lots of you would really enjoy it.

There are lots of free audio books out there at the moment. Audible have made hundreds of children's stories available for the duration of the school closures. David Walliams is also streaming chapters from his book.

Listening to stories read well is a wonderful way to learn intonation and pacing, and best of all it is fun! Why not draw what you hear or predict what will happen next? Ask yourself, why did that character behave in that way? What would you do next, if you were them? What do you imagine they look like?
