Staff Training, Development & Support

In order for our staff to feel confident in all aspects of our EDI work, they need to receive training and support from those with expert knowledge and lived experiences. We have been working very closely with Talal Khan (https://talalkhan.co.uk/), an educational consultant specialising in inclusion, to give all of our staff members the confidence and knowledge to understand why this work is so important and tools to identify discrimination, challenge it and support those affected by it. Talal's knowledge and wisdom have been invaluable and he we are all very excited about our inclusion journey.

Our staff will be receiving training on challenging unconscious bias and racial literacy in Term 3 to identify and address unconscious biases, using our whole school approach to potential discriminatory incidents. The training is designed to make staff aware of their unconscious biases and to give them tools to mitigate the influence of these biases in their decision-making
