Our Vision

"Rising High Together"

Our motto, “Rising High Together,” is reflected in our school logo. The colourful hot air balloon represents our pupils, celebrating diversity and inclusion, while the Clifton Suspension Bridge symbolises our two school sites working as one. Together, the logo and motto remind us that, with support and collaboration, every child can reach their full potential. We are grateful to pupils, staff, parents, and governors for their invaluable contributions to its development.

Our School Vision and Drivers
At Ashton Gate, our curriculum and ethos are underpinned by four key school drivers: Cultural Diversity, Equity, Independence, and Growth Mindset. These principles guide our approach to teaching and learning, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and personally. Through a rich and inclusive curriculum, pupils are exposed to a wide range of perspectives, learn to value difference, and are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, developing resilience, curiosity, and confidence.

Alongside our school drivers, the Ashton Gater Characteristics run through all aspects of school life. These core values support pupils in becoming thoughtful, responsible, and respectful members of their community. The characteristics are actively modelled by staff and celebrated across the school, including in weekly Praise Assemblies, where achievements in personal development and learning are recognised.

Together, our drivers and characteristics create a supportive and ambitious learning environment, where pupils are empowered to aim high, work collaboratively, and embrace challenges with a growth mindset. They are central to shaping the attitudes, skills, and behaviours that will help our children succeed now and in the future.
