In term 1, year 3 will begin their enquiry on changes in Britain from the Stone Age to Iron Age. 

They will be investigating the question:

How has life changed from the Stone Age to the Iron Age?

Each lesson the children will be investigating a key question and learning more about life in Britain at this time. 

 

Lesson 1: Where do the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age fit on a timeline?

Lesson 2: What was life like in the middle Stone Age? (focus on Star Carr) 

Lesson 3: What can we learn about life in the new Stone Age from Skara Brae?

Lesson 4: What were houses like in the new Stone Age?

Lesson 5:  How and why did people build Stonehenge?

Lesson 6: What can we learn about the Bronze Age from a skeleton?

Lesson 7: What was it like to live at Maiden Castle?

Lesson 8: Assessment task: How did life change from the Stone Age to the Iron Age?
