An incredible array of story characters came to life and attended Ashton Gate School on Thursday March 3rd! We were so impressed by the amount of effort the children had gone to with their costumes, and the imagination and hard work in looking through books to find character descriptions or illustrations to help them create their looks.
On Upton Site we all got the opportunity to admire one another's outfits with a fancy dress fashion show in assembly. Then at lunchtime the hall was transformed into a Mad Hatters Tea Party, complete with Alice, the Mad March Hare, the dormouse and of course the Mad Hatter himself! Lunch was very popular with the children and a huge success.
In the afternoon children worked in teams across their key stage to compete in a World Book Day themed quiz, getting really involved and stuck in and showing off the incredible amount of 'book knowledge' they have tucked away in their amazing brains.
What a great day - can't wait till next year!
