Rocket Launcher Challenge
Have a go at this challenge from the Smallpeice Engineering Trust and make your own rocket launcher! You can use cardboard, plastic, wood, or anything else that works well and you can get at home.
Once you have created your rocket launcher, here are some questions to think about:
1. Measure how far it goes, how could you make it go further?
2. Make multiple rockets, playing with shapes and sizes to find which one is the most aerodynamic
3. Fire your launcher on different angles. What happens to the flight of the rocket?
Bird Feeder Project
Click on the link below to find out how to design and make your own bird feeder using a plastic bottle. As well as bird seed, you could fill your feeder using kitchen scraps, such as fat and suet, mild grated cheese, cooked potatoes and dried fruit. Use the table to record the time and breed of different birds visiting your feeder.
