We finished our unit of work based on the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama with a piece of art inspired by her love of pumpkins and polka dots. We used oil pastels and water colour paints to create a geometric background, then chose a contrasting piece of card for our pumpkin.
We have been learning about the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. She is obsessed with dots and infinity rooms, so we created some paintings inspired by her work. We used a range of colours and used different circular items to create different sized dots!
We have been busy learning about Paul Klee in Art. We compared his work to that of Sonia Delaunay, who also uses geometric shapes and colours to inspire her artwork. We had a go at recreating some of her art with the challenge of not letting the same colour touch!
