Photomontage inspired by Hannah Hoch

African textiles

We have been exploring African textiles, looking closely at their patterns and noticing their bright colourful designs. Today we had a go at designing and painting our own African inspired patterns. 

Mama Miti illustrations

We looked closely at the illustrations in our class book, Mama Miti by Jo Napoli. We noticed the images of the characters changed considerably before and after visiting the main character, Mama Miti. We then tried to create our own illustrations just like those of the artist, Nadir Nelson.
