Year 4
Welcome to Year 4!
Welcome back, we hope you all had a wonderful half-term break and are looking forward to some long-awaited lighter days!
We have a fun and busy term ahead with lots of exciting trips planned. We will be taking part in a CST trip to the Council Chambers, where some of our children will represent Ashton Gate by delivering a debate in the Council Chambers. We also have an exciting trip planned to St George's to watch Recorder Revolution, as well as a visit to the Explorerdome to consolidate our learning about the digestion system. More information about all these trips will be sent out at the beginning of the term.
This term, we will be concluding our leaning about the Vikings in History and then will be moving on to learn about some local history. In art, we will continue to study Georgia O'Keeffe. This term's homework project is linked to art. For more information please look in the 'spellings and homework' tab.
On our Year 4 page, you will find our newsletter, which gives more detail about the lessons we’ll be covering this term, as well as our yearly and termly overview.
If you have any questions at any point during the year, please don’t hesitate to email your child’s class teacher or catch them on the playground at the end of the school day.

Drop off and pick-up.
Children are able to go into the back playground through the large black gates from 8.30. At 8.40, teachers collect classes to take them upstairs. At this time, the black gate is closed and children are able to enter the building through the white door until 8.50. After this, children will need to come in through the main entrance and sign in there.
Children will be dismissed from the back playground at 3.10 and must have pointed out their adult to their teacher before being able to leave. After school club collect from the playground.
